The creative field of Viktor Zaretsky attracted the attention of Olesya Avramenko back in the 80's of the last century. She was in the circle of students of the workshop of Victor Ivanovich, who was able to give the pupils their attraction to the beautiful. Despite the fact that the interior world of the artist was in disharmony with reality, he was thinking of artistic images full of harmony and positive. The pupil of a purely realistic Kiev school of painting, he answered all the canons of prevailing socialist realism at that time. But the soul and the inner world of the artist sought freedom of expression, the search for new forms and means of artistic imaginative thinking. He constantly experimented in various genres, and eventually found his unique "niche" in fine arts.
While studying at the Kiev Art Institute, a young artist was born under the brush of works of museum level, many of which fell to the not too numerous galleries and private collections. Through the prism of realism, avant-garde, admiration of Klimt's creative style, he built his own - a light, exciting neo-secession, giving it a purely Ukrainian color. The works of this style are full of his unique mosaic of picturesque Ukrainian nature, the mysteries of Ukrainian sithva.
But in many writings of Viktor Zaretsky reflected the dramatic events of his personal life. The main milestones of Zaretsky's creative life testify to his active social position, the desire not only to create, but also to transfer his knowledge to others. During the so-called thaw, he married the lawyer, the artist Alla Gorska. In the created creative club "Contemporary" the flower of the Ukrainian youth, patriots and passionate creators of independent Ukraine was organized. Not everything was greeted with flowers, many activists were killed, like the artist's wife. Salvation Zaretsky was looking for tireless work finding his way to progressive contemporary art. The uniqueness of Viktor Zaretsky also because he responded to the aggressive totalitarian regime of the state with its own positive concept.
