Cultural exchange: Ukraine-Georgia art project took place in Ukraine

In September-October this year Ukraine hosted the International Ukrainian-Georgian art project devoted to cultural exchange and creative cooperation between our countries. The organizers of the project are the Kiev organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and the Foundation for the Promotion of Georgian Culture.
The main idea of the project is to bring together well-known Ukrainian and Georgian artists as the modern art of Ukraine and Georgia in order to travel together in different parts of Ukraine and create new cycles of paintings. Thus, the basis of the project were two scenic plein airs in Svalyava and Sedniv and, according to their results, three exhibitions in Svalyava, Sednev and Kiev.
"The project lasted a month. During this time, we tried to show our guests a different Ukraine: first Kyiv, our capital, then the picturesque Transcarpathia, and in the end - the picturesque Sedniv as a creative mecca of Ukrainian artists. We wanted to ruin a holistic impression on our country, "- says the artist, co-curator of the project Galina Popinova.
Initially, excursions were organized in Kyiv, then Chernihiv, Mukachevo and Uzhhorod. Thanks to this Georgian guests got acquainted with some of the best sights of Ukrainian culture, visited museums, galleries and workshops of artists.

Spitator Tetyana Muchchika notes: "I hope that this art project will continue and become traditional for Svalyava. We are ready to host international paintings and exhibitions. After all, cultural exchange is the best way to integrate Ukraine into the world. "
Upon completion of the Transcarpathian part, the project was continued in the city of Sednev, which is in the Chernihiv region. His members were such well-known artists as Gayane Atayan, Maria Polyakova, Sergei Polyakov, Nikolai Skobelsky, Natalya Kokhal, Svetlana Anoshkina, Tetyana Didenko and Galina Popinova.
Artist-graphic artist, President of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine Andriy Chebykin visited the opening of the Kyiv post-plenum exhibition. Congratulating the organizers, participants and guests of the project, he also emphasized the importance of the project itself and the cities chosen for its implementation.
"It is nice that in the framework of this project the artists visited the Transcarpathians and Sednivs. Transcarpathia gave the world a beautiful, picturesque school, and Sedniv is also our school, because there worked Yablonsky, Glushchenko, Zakharov, Danchenko, Yakutovich and many other well-known Ukrainian artists. I am glad that the Ukrainian-Georgian cultural exchange took place in this tiny creative place, "he said.

Georgian artist Nino Gogolishvili thanked the Ukrainian organizers and participants of the project on behalf of the Georgian side. She also noted the hospitality of Ukrainians and the picturesque nature of Ukrainian landscapes: "We felt the spirit of your people, as a very close spirit. Positive emotions from communicating with Ukrainian artists and the beauty of local landscapes have filled our hearts with new inspiration. We, with all my heart, fell in love with Ukraine, so we will definitely continue the Ukrainian painting series. And I still want to learn the Ukrainian language. "
Sednevsky plein air and the Kiev exhibition were held with the support of the law firm "ST. Partners "and the company" Deliveri group ".
The international Ukrainian-Georgian artistic project is a continuation of the charity project "Art as a Special Mission", initiated by the Kyiv organization NSCU in conjunction with the law firm "ST. Partners ", which lasted for 2016-2017. In the idea of which was laid the concept of "artists supporting artists."
As noted by the artist, the author of the idea and the project co-custodian, deputy chairman of the Kyiv organization NSCU, Natalia Kochal: "Artists often give work to charity, but they themselves sometimes need support. So we decided to make a project in which artists can help their colleagues. And it's nice that this idea was supported by our partner friends Sergey Tyurin and Svitlana Trofimchuk. "
"During the year we conducted three exhibitions and, in their sum, a charity auction. We received the funds, divided into two equal parts. The first address was directed to two artists who are most in need of help in the current state of health. The second part was funded by the International Ukrainian-Georgian plein air in Sedniv. After all, the support of artists is also the creation of conditions for their creative work and cultural exchange, "she adds.
"In fact, we are doing what brings us special pleasure. In art we draw a great inspiration to work in their field of work. To join the beautiful is a very pleasant thing in itself. And when we can still help both individuals and conducting an international project of art, then of course this is especially pleasant and joyful. This is probably one of the most noble and most desirable directions in which we realize our charitable goal, "- says lawyer, partner of the law firm" ST. Partners »Sergey Tyurin.

Organizers say that in 2018 a picturesque plein air in Georgia will take place, which will be the continuation of the Ukrainian-Georgian cultural exchange.
